The Easiest Homemade Applesauce (Instant Pot Style!)

There’s something so comforting about homemade applesauce. It reminds me of fall days, cozy kitchens, and the sweet, warm smell of cinnamon filling the house. But here's the thing — you don’t need to wait for autumn or spend hours cooking to enjoy it. This recipe is quick, easy, and only takes a few ingredients. If you’ve got a bag of apples and an Instant Pot, you’re already halfway there.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 bag of apples (Gala are my personal favorite — sweet, soft, and perfect for this!)

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup water

  • Instant Pot

That’s it. Really.

How to Make It:

  1. Wash your apples, but don’t worry about peeling them — we’re keeping the skins on for added fiber and a little rustic texture. Just cut them into chunks and toss out the core.

  2. Add apples to your Instant Pot along with the water and cinnamon.

  3. Set it to high pressure for 6 minutes. Once it’s done, let the pressure release naturally.

  4. Grab your immersion blender and blend right in the pot until you get the texture you like — smooth, chunky, or somewhere in between.

  5. Pour your fresh applesauce into a glass jar and let it cool before storing in the fridge.

Storing:

Keep your applesauce refrigerated in a sealed glass jar. It’ll stay good for up to 14 days — though I doubt it’ll last that long once you taste it!

This applesauce is great on its own, stirred into oatmeal, spooned over my gluten free waffles, or even served warm as a cozy little dessert. I love knowing exactly what’s in it (no added sugar or preservatives), and the Instant Pot makes it so effortless.

Let me know if you try it — and tag me on Instagram if you do! I’d love to see your version.
